iXtreme 1.6 One Shot Boot Mode Tutorial

Turorial By: ZyGoMaTiC

This tutorial will be using IMGBurn.

Activate.iso is designed to enable One-shot boot mode for the iXtreme 1.6 firmware. One-shot boot mode allows you to boot your unstealthed, modified backups, or wave 4 games without any strict stealth checks.

DO AT YOUR OWN RISK. THERE IS A BAN RISK USING ACTIVATE.ISO.

Must have 1.6 firmware or this will not work.

1. Insert a blank DVD R DL into your DVD burner.

2. Open activate.iso with your prefered burning software. Im using IMGBurn

3. Make sure your Layerbreak is set to calculate optimal. And your write speed is 2.4x.

4. Now start the burn.

5. As soon as you start burning a message will pop up saying the image is small enough for a DVD-R, do you want to continue anyway. You want to choose yes, becuase a DVD-R wont work.

6. You might get a message like this:

Just say Yes, to continue.

7. Now you will get a message that says even though the image is small enough to fit into one layer its best to write in both layers, do wou want to go away from the normal and write in only one layer.

Choosing Yes will cause all data to be written into the first layer.

Choosing No will cause data to be written into both layers.

Choose YES.

8. It will burn and take a long time to finalize then finish.

How to use it

1. Turn on your xbox 360

2. Eject tray

3. Insert Activate disc boot disc

Let it load till it says Play DVD once it reads that you can now eject it, and no you dont have to press A

Insert any wave 4 game, it will only work for the next game inserted any time you wish to play a wave 4 game you must repeat the steps

Extra Info:

1. You have to put this disc in everytime before you boot a wave 4/unpatched game.

I do not recommend playing an unstealthed game. I made this tutorial primarily for wave 4 games, but i was just stating that it is possible to boot an unstealthed game.

If the game is properly stealth patched than you wont get banned.

But since ABGX cant check wave 4, the only way to know the game is safe is if it gets verified.

This is because if the verification passes, that means the stealth patched aswell.

hey guys, when I bought my xbox, I requested a flash to 1.6 ixt in my liteon

the problem is that, I just burned 4 activate iso, in many ways and it doesnt work with 2 wave4 games that I tested

what happens, in 1 game, it reads in 1 sec the disk, and appears the video message to put a xbox 360 game on, showing that it worked

when I put the game, it says playing the dvd then it shows a xbox 360 logo and nothing happens

this happens in both games, but one says it cant be read too

so, it means what. that I dont have 1.6 or what

tried now to burn in clonedvd and nothing too same thing happens

do I need to upgrade the dash or something before trying to play the game.

This is not working for me. I burned the activate.iso and P2P s MW2. When I put the activate.iso in it displays the Put this game in a xbox 360 console screen. Then I eject the tray and put in MW2 and it loads and displays the disc unreadable message. I have a Lite-On DG-16D2S w/ iXtreme 1.6. Any solutions.

See mine didnt take that long to finalize, and i followed the tutorial to the t, i have been trying to play mw2 the past two days with 1.6 liteon, and i get play dvd every single time i eject act.iso and put in a wave 4 game.

I know the act.iso is fine because it gives me the Put in console message, but then i load up a wave 4 and it continues to call it a dvd.

Im not sure. Some take a long time, while others dont take long at all. It might just be the fact everyone has a different burner.

I am trying to play Ballad of Gay Tony without success. I have a Lite-on drive with v.16 FW.

My activate disc shows the Put it in an Xbox 360 message indicating, as you said, that the disc has burned correctly. But after ejecting the disc and putting in Ballad, the 360 reads and just says Play DVD and shows the Xbox 360 logo.

What could be wrong. The friend who burnt the disc says he may have burnt it on two layers. But as your tutorial says, if that message appears, that means it has burnt correctly. Would the message appear if the activate disc was burned on two layers.

Would really appreciate any help.

Never mind. It was a wrong burn. Burned a new activate disc by following the correct instructions and it worked.

Its weird, sometimes it takes me 5 minutes to burn the disk with verification totalling 5 mins, but sometimes verification takes like 20 mins, exact same disks.anybody know why that it.

Im having the same issue. Using 1.6 on a Lite-On drive. Burned the activate iso a bunch of different ways. And it shows up with the screen saying put in an xbox 360. But when I eject and insert GTA or Tekken 6, it still says Play Dvd. So not working. Is it possible the activate iso is showing the correct insert disc screen, but is a bad burn somehow. Thats the only thing I can think of. Either that or its a problem with my Lite-On Jasper combination. Im burning it on Phillips DL at 4x lowest it will go. Tried buring it on 1st layer, and both layers. I know the media works, as I have many games on this media, and never had any problems.

Just tried burning to a Verbatim I had lying around. Followed the instructions from the 1st page to the T. Possible my GTA and Tekken 6 are bad burns I guess, but I really doubt it. Oh well lets make some more coasters

1. Your 360 drive lacks your DVD Key.

2. You did not set the layerbreak when burning. Or you did not select the. dvd file instead of the. iso.

If it doesnt have the dvd key doesnt that mean the normal games that you buy and other burnt games dont work. My burnt cod5 works fine.

Yes if you did not spoof the key over to the modded firmware your 360 will show all games as DVD s. Retail and Burned.

If you set your layerbreak and you are sure your dvd key is in the firmware flashed to the drive. Then its just a bad backup.

Thats what im saying, my other burnt games and real games load perfectly, just when i try to play wave 4 i get the play dvd when using activate.iso

And if its just a bad backup i have 8 mw 2 bad backups rofl.

If it only happens on Wave 4 games. Then its a problem with the activate.iso.

If you can reburn it and try again.

I have 2 activate isos already, one with layerbreak set to 1913760, and another one set to calculate optimal. and could it be a problem im not burning in 2.4x. In imgburn the lowest it will let me set it is 4x.

Files can corrupt while downloading. They can also corrupt while unpacking from a rar file.

Im not saying your source is corrupted. Just saying it may have corrupted somewhere down the line.

Yeah the crc was corrupt on a few rars when i extracted, i had to re download them for it to extract smoothly with no errors, but idk im pretty much all out of ideas.

If the game passes ABGX. And you have iXtreme 1.6 than all you need to do is use activate.iso.

And if your scared a game isnt stealthed wait until it gets verified, because that means the game is stealthed. This is because a game cant pass verification if it isnt stealthed.

If you have 1.61 you dont need activate.iso.

I have a Lite-on with Jasper. It worked for me. I burnt it on a Sony DL ha. with layer break to Calculate optimal settings and burning it on the first layer. I downloaded the. iso file from abgx360.

Here is one thing. Try burning the activate.iso of the same company disc that your games are burnt in. So if your game is burnt on a Verb, then burn activate.iso on a Verb as well. I know it makes no sensebut my friend had burnt me a activate disc on an imation disc and i trust him enough to have the sense to follow the instructions correctly. But that imation disc never worked. My game was on a Sony disc. Maybe there is a connection. Maybe i am an idiot.

Ok I have a question. In your tutorial you say Make sure your Layerbreak is set to 1913760 but in the picture you have it set as calculate optimal. I am looking at other tutorials on 360iso and it says to make sure its set as calculate optimal. What one is it supposed to be.

It was a while ago. I just put in MW2 into the Xbox and I got the same screen. So I am not sure what exactly going on. I am burning a new copy to see if my MW2 disc was the problem.

Well i dont know much about the release dates of the FW s but i got my 1.6 console about 8 months ago.

So it is quite possible that you have 1.51.

IF he had 1.51 it would just play the burned game without a need for activate iso. Since it wasnt til 1.6 came along that they put in the one shot boot mode disc. So guessing he has 1.6. Since im in the same boat as him.

Only hitachi will boot wave 4 with 1.51.

I m having the same Disk Unreadable error when trying to boot MW2 after using the activate.iso.

I ve burnt both disks twice already, still no luck. I really doubt this is a bad burn. I m using the same Verbatim disks I always do.

Ixtreme won t stop you from booting a unstealthed game.

When you use the one shot boot disc, the console will boot unstealthed games. Which will get you banned.

So as long as you dont play unstealthed games, you wont get banned.

Anyone able to get this to work on a jasper model with lite-on drive. Not the newest models that everyone is having problems with, but jasper arcade model. Ive tried everything with no luck. If so let me know what media your using. Tried on verbatim and phillips DL.

I have burnt Dragon Age : Origins twice and Lips number one hits, and every single one of them comes up as disc unreadable using active.iso beforehand.

Without Activate.iso it is detected as a DVD, I put in activate disc, then put in Dragon Age and it says Play Game, but no image or title, then unreadable -.-. I am going mad with this and wasting too many discs.

Yet Wave 3 burns are working fine, not one bad burn, all working, so I highley doubt I would just get bad burns when its wave 4.

Anyone know whats going on.

No, as long as you know it ll burn other backups, you shouldn t have a problem burning the. iso.

2.4x is the average speed that most people use. And i know 2.4 works from experience.

oh right thanks iv just tried it but it didnt work iv made two boot discs neither worked im going to make another copy of MW2 see if thats the reason.

i burnt it on a dvd and its ok, and when i insert it to the xbox it gives me a message that i have to put in an xbox, but the problem is that when i insert a wave 4 game it wont load and instead i get a screen thats asking me to update my xbox, what should i do..

insert the activate disk it will says play dvds eject the disk and then insert the game and it should says play game. if not then there is something wrong either with your activate disk burning method and brand of dvd or the game itself depending how did you made the image and burn it

Works for me but I don t get the message that is in the pictures. At first I thought it wasn t working since I was expecting that Play DVD message to pop up. But when I ejected the disc and put in the Wave 4 game in, it works just fine.

Burned using Verbatim DVD R DL Imgburn.

Should also put do at your own risk. There is a ban risk while using the activate.iso.

Modded firmware is now detectable by MS, So basically nothing is safe.

But I dont use internet or use xbox live to play since my country highest speed is between 30kb and 50kb sec so its not possible for me to play online and I ll not use internet with xbox 360 still I m not safe.

I m getting this message now What do I need to choose. Need help.

This is a great tutorial and worked the first time for me. Do make sure and set your 360 to not automatically run the DVD once it is put in the drive. If it runs the Activate.iso disc then you will get the screen telling you to put it into an XBOX 360.

If you deactivate the auto load disc in your console settings then you should have no problem. That is the only thing I noticed. Thanks again.

I don t see what a banned console has anything to do with it. Mine is banned bought used and I can use it.

While on the topics, since my console is banned anyways I don t have to worry about stealth patching, is there a way I can make wave 4 games work without activating, it s not like using games with the wrong CRC can get me banned

I think im not on 1.6 and thats why the games arent working what a waste of discs :thumbdown. Is there anyway to burn wave 4 games so they work on ixtremes less than 1.6 i think im on 1.5 or 1.51 im not sure. Im already banned so that is not a problem.

I have been playing using the activation disc for quite some time and it have worked great. Until today.

I did what I usually do, put in the act. disc and the eject and put in the game to play, but it still says play dvd.

I haven t had any problems before. Anyone know why.
